Watercolored Stocking Christmas Card

Today I made a card for The Paper Players Challenge #68- to create a Christmas themed card using the colors red and green. I love this Gift Givers stamp set from the Holiday Mini and hadn't played with it yet. There are images in this set for every holiday! I stamped the stocking images using StazOn ink onto watercolor paper. Then I used Watercolor Crayons to apply color to the stockings. It's so simple! Do you remember using water to do paint in those books as a kid? Well it's kind of like that. You apply a little bit of color to the image with crayon, then use an aqua painter to blend the color. The watercolor paper absorbs the water so your paper doesn't get warped. I also used the new Mini Jingle Bells. These are SO dang cute. I love that when I pick up the card, it makes a jolly sound. Another thing I did was to loop some baker's twine through the holes of the lace border punch. I love the finished result!

Remember to check back here tomorrow for our weekly MDS Blog Hop- this week our challenge is to use a Holiday or themed designer series paper for something other than its original purpose (like scrapbooking a birthday page using Halloween paper).
