MDS Blog Hop: Hello There Kit

There was a challenge over at My Digital Studio to CASE a layout and so I've been doing that a lot lately. Here is the layout that inspired me to make this page. I used some wood grain paper from the Number One Kit to fill the letter punches and mimic the look of the ones in the inspiration page. I'm crazy about doilies so I was super excited when I saw these ones and had to buy them right away. Make sure you check out everyone's pages today!

...and I think this new Hello There Kit from this week's downloads is quickly becoming one of my new favorites:

How To CASE Your Favorite Layouts

CASE = Copy And Share Everything

I still have some layouts to work on from this fall, but I'm almost done. Here's one I made of Esper's Halloween this year. It came together very quickly because I copied the basic layout from this page I saw on Pinterest. I usually look for layouts on my boards that contain the same amount of photos so that it's really easy to copy a design. I actually sketch rectangles on paper to represent photos, either portrait or landscape based on how I shot them. Then I look through layouts that feature the same amount and orientation of photos or close to it. The one I found was one photo shy, but I knew I could make it work.

As you can see, I usually start with the basic shapes and placement of the page and then go from there.

It's simple (but simple means fast!) and keeps the focus on the photos. The banner was one from the Eventful Year Hostess disc that I recolored.

So give it a try! CASE'ing really takes all the brain power out of creating. It's great for me because I'm usually running low. :)

MDS Blog Hop: All Things Love

I have a fun Valentine's Day card to share with you today. I was inspired by a card made by Tiffany Bauer and another by Lisa Foster. Make sure you watch the video below in which I show how to insert that cute Designer Series Paper into the typewriter stamp image (I just realized I'm talking very quietly in it because everyone in the house was sleeping. Sorry 'bout that). And then make sure you go check out everyone else's beautiful love-themed projects!
