MDS Blog Hop: All Things Love

I have a fun Valentine's Day card to share with you today. I was inspired by a card made by Tiffany Bauer and another by Lisa Foster. Make sure you watch the video below in which I show how to insert that cute Designer Series Paper into the typewriter stamp image (I just realized I'm talking very quietly in it because everyone in the house was sleeping. Sorry 'bout that). And then make sure you go check out everyone else's beautiful love-themed projects!

Walk in the Park II Digital Kit

I absolutely love this new kit that came out last week, so I had to scrapbook my Valentine's Day pictures using it. (I especially love the hand-written looking titles included in it.) I set up my camera for some self-timer shots that day. Even though some of the pictures aren't completely in focus, these pictures are some of my favorites because they show the relationship Esper and I have. We have so much fun together. Make sure you check back on Friday for our blog hop- the theme will be all things green in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

MDS Blog Hop: Designer Templates

*Make sure you check out my post below about the free trial of My Digital Studio you can download this month and leave a comment to win some Stampin' Up! goodies.

This week our challenge is to create a project using a designer template. Here is a neat little trick you can use to get more use out of your designer templates. I have a lot of card templates and I don't really use cards much, so being able to use the designs on scrapbook pages is great!

I used a 5.5" x 4.25" card template that comes with the Broadsheet Alphabet Brush Stamp Set. (This would be a great card to use for Valentine's Day!) I opened the card and then selected Edit > Change Project Size/Type.
Select Photobooks & Individual Pages, and then a menu will pop up showing you what sizes are available to change the project to. This one can be changed to 11" x 8-1/2" so all the other sizes are greyed out.
It will ask if you want to replace this project or create a new one. Hit replace.

Here's the result. I still think it's important to preserve memories for Esper of her and her father even though he and I aren't together anymore. I hope to maybe make a digital photobook of the two of them and give him a copy and have one here for Esper to look at.

Wedding Gift Scrapbook Page + colourQ Challenge #104

For the first time in a long time I created a scrapbook page using paper! Of course, it is a gift for a friend who is getting married tomorrow. (I prefer digital layouts of our family pictures so that I can print a copy for Esper's book and one for our family book.) I hope the friend that I made this for doesn't see my blog before I give it to her tomorrow... (but if she does I hope she likes it.)

My Jeff helped take their engagement and bridal pictures and I think he did a great job.

I stamped each of their initials using the Monogram Sweet stamp set.
I used an embossing folder to add texture to the flowers and then used a sanding block over the texture.

I created this layout using the colourQ color combo from challenge #104:
Along with the color combination, there was an additional challenge to pick a previous colourQueen to CASE (Copy And Share Everything). I chose this card to inspire my scrapbook layout:
