Elephant Birthday Card

My grandma requested a birthday card design that she could use to make cards for a few people. She picked this Elebration stamp for me to use, and I loved the challenge to create this card. I have a hard time using line-art images. I always think they look weird colored in with markers, so I usually watercolor them. Well I wanted something fast for her to recreate, and stamping the elephant on designer series paper and punching it out worked perfectly! I was inspired by a card made by Angela Helynck (see below).

Joy Digital Layout and Blog Candy!

I have something fun for you today! Last night I was feeling very inspired so I created this layout using pictures I took yesterday at the pumpkin patch. Don't you love it when the pictures you took turned out so cute that you must rush home and scrapbook them? That's what I love about My Digital Studio- I no longer have to wait to send my photos to a photo lab and then go pick them up. And then come home and wait until I have a clean craft room to make them into a cute scrapbook page. I am all about doing a little at a time- editing photos during nap time, picking out supplies in MDS while she eats dinner, etc. I love that MDS works on MY schedule.

Anyway, here's the fun part. BLOG CANDY! Do you like this layout? Then it's yours! One winner will receive a template of this page they can add their own photos into! (You must own My Digital Studio software to use it.) Just leave me a comment telling me what you love about My Digital Studio. If you have it but haven't used it yet, let me know what your hangups are with digital scrapbooking. Are you not tech-savvy? Do you feel it's another thing you don't want to get into? I will pick a winner on Wednesday, November 2nd at 10pm MDT.

Supplies used: (If you don't see something listed below, it is included with the original software)
Just for fun, here's some more pictures from yesterday:

MDS Blog Hop: Christmas Cards

This week our MDS Blog Hop challenge was to design a Christmas card. Well I designed five! I wanted to show you different ideas in different colors and styles so I used some family pictures from years past. I hope this shows you just how versatile this wonderful software is. If I feel like designing something in a vintage style, the elements are there. If I want more of a whimsical feel, I change up the paper and embellishments. And trust me, my mood changes often! I'm a girl, what can I say? I need enough choices when I'm designing to match my moods (kind of like shoes.) Click here to order your very own My Digital Studio software today and get designing your Christmas card! (It's not even November yet, what a great way to get something crossed off your holiday to-do list!)

I made this one using a picture from last year. The punch shape behind the reindeer is from the Spooky Treats kit and I filled it with paper from the Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper. You'll notice I used a ton of non-Christmas kits and papers on these cards.
I took these photos and designed this card for my sister. In return, I got free Mary Kay stuff! (Font is The Dreamer) (If you are local to the Salt Lake City, Utah area you should hire me to take your photos!)
This card uses family pictures of us from two years ago. I wanted to show how easy it is to use non-traditional Christmas colors to match the colors in your photos. (Font is Lobster Two) (Funny thing about these pictures is I was pregnant with Esper in them and had no idea.)
A circle photo and a grouping of embellishments makes this card so fast to design in My Digital Studio!
This will be our card this year. Please click on it to enlarge. It will be a trifold, which is why it is so long. I'll take a picture of it when it gets here from the printer. Again, notice the non-traditional Christmas colors.

Here are some more amazing Christmas kits that would be fun to create cards with:
