Happy Thanksgiving Card

Happy Thanksgiving Card

I saw this adorable card by Natasha Schwecke and knew I had to copy it! I love the look of the wood grain mixed with the glitter paper. I feel like that's what Thanksgiving is- a time to party and glitz up the simple celebration of food and bounty. May you and your families all have a happy Thanksgiving!

MDS Blog Hop: September Projects

Did you know that My Digital Studio is great for designing blog banners? I created this one for my other blog. I used one I saw online as inspiration and it came together very quickly. I'm sad to say this is my last blog hop post. :( I'm overwhelmed with school and being a mommy to the point where I haven't done a lot of designing lately. But I'll still be posting projects here when I do get a spare moment. Thanks for joining me for the past 2+ years on this fun adventure and make sure you continue to follow the bi-monthly blog hop. I love these super talented women!

MDS Blog Hop: Baby Frameable Word Art

Today we are sharing home decor projects with you. I've designed this cute frameable artwork that would be a great gift for a mother-to-be. This project came together SO quickly. The most time I spent was picking the font (I'm really picky with my fonts). I've been super busy since school started back up so I'll be brief. Make sure you check out the other great projects today!

MDS Blog Hop: Summer Project Life

Remember back in the day when I was doing my version of Project Life? Well it got away from me but now I'm back at it. My system has changed a bit. Trying to make sure I got every day recorded was a bit too much pressure for me. So now I just take the 7 most recent photos from my phone and put them on one page. I focus on the memory and journal about the photo, rather than other things we did that day. What I love about this is that the pressure is off. And now that I'm back in Project Life mode I find myself wanting to take more "everyday" photos of little moments in our lives. I realized that future generations are going to be more interested in these little snippets of our life. Actually I just enjoy looking back at these types of layouts I've made more than the others. I remember things I had forgotten like little traditions we used to have that we don't anymore, or how much our daily life has changed with Esper's growth. I encourage you to create a Project Life style layout, even if it's just every now and then, so you can preserve some of the things you maybe wouldn't have otherwise.

5 Supply Fix: Milk Carton Box

I need a good challenge these days to get me creating. Don't you? I love the cooking show on Food Network called 5 Ingredient Fix.

Going with that inspiration, I decided to start a fun regular on my blog called "5 Supply Fix" These projects will feature 5 or fewer supplies (in addition to ink and paper).

So on this card the 5 supplies I challenged myself with were:
1. Daydream Medallions stamp set
2. Itty Bitty Banners stamp set
3. Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons
4. Mini Milk Carton Bigz L Die (Does anyone else find this thing a beast to figure out how to fold??)
5. Pistachio Pudding 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim (My favorite ribbon EVER!)

Ink: Versamark, Crumb Cake

Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White

Apparently there is a Bitty Banners Frame-Lit that goes with the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set, but I don't own it, so I just cut mine out by hand.

Demos: This would make a great make-n-take at a workshop or stamp club!

Everyone else: This would make a great little gift. Fill the milk carton with a favorite candy!

I hope you enjoy the projects I come up with for 5 Supply Fix. Maybe you'll be inspired to play along too!

MDS Blog Hop: Pocket Cards

A few updates: We have moved our Blog Hop day to the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month. Also, we were sad to lose Kimberly Van Diepen but are excited to be adding Cori Kozak and Julie Davidse as members of the blog hop! Yay!

Last week I posted a layout about Robb and Esper's cute relationship and today I have another one. One thing I love about the pocket card style of scrapbooking is that it is perfect for accommodating cell phone photos. I had all these pictures of the two of them and this template was a great solution. I love, love, love this Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper.

And guess what? I made a video showing you how I made this great Project Life style template for future projects!

I loved this designer series paper so much I had to make two layouts with it. I used a Pinterest layout as inspiration of course. Enjoy the hop today!

Introducing 5 Supply Fix: Birthday Card & Gift Bag

Introducing 5 Supply Fix: Birthday Card & Gift Bag

I need a good challenge these days to get me creating. Don't you? I love the cooking show on Food Network called 5 Ingredient Fix.

Going with that inspiration, I decided to start a fun regular on my blog called "5 Supply Fix" These projects will feature 5 or fewer supplies (in addition to ink and paper).

So on this card the 5 supplies I challenged myself with were:
1. 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch
2. Scallop Edge Border punch
3. In Color Boutique Details
4. Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine (Comes in the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit)
5. You're Amazing stamp set

I also used some carnival tickets I had but I'm not counting those. ;)
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Paper: Birthday Basics DSP, Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Very Vanilla

Of course every birthday card needs a matching bag to put a gift in. Here are the 5 supplies in addition to ink and card stock that I used for the bag:

*I did not have Summer Starfruit ink so I stamped the ticket image in Versamark onto Summer Starfruit card stock and embossed it in clear embossing powder. I also didn't have the Ticket Duo Builder punch so I cut the ticket out by hand.

Ink: Versamark
Paper: Birthday Basics DSP, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit
