MDS Blog Hop: Masculine

I have had a busy week with a teething youngster, so I won't be participating in the MDS Blog Hop today, but make sure you go check out these girls' great projects featuring the men in their lives.

Thanks So Much card

I actually stamped! Using paper, ink, and stamps! I know I started this blog (Stamping with Erica) making more stamped projects, but after having a baby, I found myself having little time or space to do anything but create projects in MDS. But I have felt the itch again to use real paper and ink so you may be seeing more cards soon.

I started by running a piece of Whisper White card stock through my Big Shot using the Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I took a sponge and applied Tangerine Tango Classic Ink to the raised image. I like the result.

I used the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper as inspiration for my color scheme. This DSP is great, and if you purchase 3 packs of DSP this month, you get one free!

MDS Blog Hop: Cupcakes/Baking

Alesha picked our theme this week as cupcakes. While I don't have any pictures that fit that theme, I did have these ones of the kids and I making brownies. The design I based this on is a layout by Maggie Holmes in CK's Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks Summer Fun & Travel edition. (All my layouts seem to be Maggie Holmes inspired. Love her work.)

I wasn't sure if using vintage products on this layout would work or not and the colors seemed too bright to match with anything. Luckily, it all just seemed to come together. Don't you love it when that happens?

Sometimes I like to use my own handwriting on my layouts so I'll add that once the page is printed.

MDS Blog Hop: Birthdays

I'm loving that these weekly Blog Hops are forcing me to scrapbook and blog at least once a week. Last week I was in Las Vegas and barely got my post up. This week I'm dealing with being sick. I guess that's what I get for playing so much in Vegas. :(

So while this isn't my favorite layout, it's done. Making this layout means I'm caught up on all three of our kids' birthdays for the past three years Jeff and I have been together. That's pretty awesome! I love that MDS made that possible.
