MDS Blog Hop: Christmas Gift Idea

I actually have a project for you today! Aren't you excited? Tomorrow I will print these out on card stock and then I will use paint to put Esper's hand print on them. These will be Christmas gifts for her dad and her grandparents. I will put them in frames and then they can keep them on their desks or hang them somewhere. I got this idea on Pinterest of course.

MDS Blog Hop: Monochromatic

The theme picked for this week was to create a project using a monochromatic color scheme. I chose to create a layout about the day my daughter was born last year. And since all of my baby layouts about her tend to have soft, pastel colors I thought I would try something different and use Riding Hood Red.
Have you purchased the Flag punch yet? As you can see, it's my favorite and I use it on almost every layout I make.

I copied the text from the blog post I wrote about her birth story and pasted it into page two of this spread. I'm glad I wrote all these details down when they were fresh in my mind or I never would have remembered it all.

MDS Blog Hop: Tri-Fold Cards

Today's challenge was to create a Tri-Fold card in My Digital Studio. I didn't have time to design something new, so today I just thought I'd show you the printed version of the tri-fold Christmas card I designed a few weeks ago. I guess with this post comes some news. We will not be sending out this Christmas card this year. Jeff and I are no longer a family. I have been devastated some days and happy and at peace with it the others. This is definitely what is best for us, but it's hard to mourn the loss of something you thought you'd have forever. We are both growing and changing and learning more about ourselves from this experience. I am grateful for the things I've learned. And I'm glad I had this card printed because now I will put it in Esper's scrapbook. And you just have to see how pretty these cards look when printed!

The best feature of this card is being able to use the entire flip side to put more photos or text.

MDS Blog Hop: Home

Our theme this week was Home. In my goal to get Esper's first year scrapbooked, I realized I hadn't made a page about bringing Esper home from the hospital. Look how little, widdle she is! I used the Nursery Papers and Embellishments - I have used these on a few of her layouts so far.

MDS Blog Hop: Remembrance

So I actually got time today to make a layout for the theme! I'm a bit late but I wanted to share. These pictures were from Memorial Day this year. I visited the grave site of my grandparents. My grandma died this year and my grandpa passed a few years ago. My grandpa actually fought in WWII so it honors him as a veteran too. I wish my daughter could have known the amazing people they were. I copied a layout made by the fabulous Rochelle Gould - I loved not having to come up with a new design. I copied and pasted the text from my blog post from this day for the journaling. It makes scrapbooking so much easier.
