MDS Blog Hop: Sketch

Today's challenge was to create a layout using the cool sketch Mandy picked for us. I really wanted to play this week, but I have been busy starting school and dealing with a grouchy (possibly teething) toddler.

But I do want to share a project with you anyway. In December I was asked to design some samples for Stampin' Up! to have on display at their Leadership convention (going on now) in San Antonio. I was so excited to play with some new product! I created this layout using the same Twitterpated kit I featured earlier this week, using pictures from the same photo shoot. I liked playing in the 11" x 8-1/2" size since I normally just do 12" x 12".  Make sure you check back often this week as I will be featuring the other projects I designed.

Sister Digital Layout & Twitterpated Kit

It's been a long time since I made something other than just the weekly project for our blog hop. I'm finally feeling a bit creative so I thought I'd play with some new product. This is the new Twitterpated kit- isn't it pretty? And these cute girls are my friend Kristie's daughters. I took some photos of them in October that turned out great because they are so photogenic.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to come back for our blog hop on Friday!

MDS Blog Hop: Something New (Project Life Week 1)

This week we are all about showing you something new on our blog hop! So I figured, I would try something new. My own version of Project Life! I will be (attempting) creating a layout for each week of the year. It will mostly include cell phone photos that don't usually end up on my other layouts. I'm being pretty flexible with it, not always going in Sunday-Friday order, and sometimes skipping a day if I don't have a picture for it. I want to be able to look back twenty years from now and remember what the day-to-day stuff of my life involved. I especially want to be able to tell Esper what it was like, transitioning into being a single mom. I want to be able to remember these special little moments I get to experience with her every day.

I copied a template I saw on a digital scrapbooking site. It was so easy to make my own template in My Digital Studio that I can use each week. Or I may switch it up and move the placement of everything, but for now I like the ease and cohesiveness of having each page look similar. The fun part comes in changing up the color scheme and products used. Today I used the new Day in the Life kit, which is a great one to use if you are doing your own Project Life book.

P.S. Check out the first picture where it looks like Esper is trying to discover her baby doll's gender. :)

MDS Blog Hop: New Product

The holidays are over so that means life can go back to normal now, right? I hope so. I'm excited to get back into the swing of things with the weekly blog hop. This week our challenge was to create a project using new product. This Simple Snapshot kit is great! You can earn it between now and April 30 by hosting a workshop (or ordering $150 worth of product). It comes with 15 Designer Series Paper Patterns, 32 embellishments, and a 22-piece stamp brush set.

MDS Blog Hop: Christmas Gift Idea

I actually have a project for you today! Aren't you excited? Tomorrow I will print these out on card stock and then I will use paint to put Esper's hand print on them. These will be Christmas gifts for her dad and her grandparents. I will put them in frames and then they can keep them on their desks or hang them somewhere. I got this idea on Pinterest of course.
