Today we are sharing home decor projects with you. I've designed this cute frameable artwork that would be a great gift for a mother-to-be. This project came together SO quickly. The most time I spent was picking the font (I'm really picky with my fonts). I've been super busy since school started back up so I'll be brief. Christmas Chalkboard Frameable Word Art

I wanted to try my hand at a chalkboard-looking frameable I could put out at Christmas. I used this one (second one down) as inspiration. I used the freeform tool to curve a line that I then attached text to. It didn't turn out exactly as I was hoping, so I'll have to keep playing with this style.

I went shopping today and the crowds were crazy! I have a lot left to do before Christmas. Wrapping and baking and more wrapping. I can't wait to see Esper's sweet smile when she sees what Santa brought her.

My Digital Studio: Christmas Frameable Art

Tonight I sat down to watch Love Actually, drink some cocoa, and do some MDS'ing. The snow outside was softly falling and I was reminded of why I love this time of year so much.

I hope you enjoy today's project. I will have it printed and frame it to have out at Christmas. I was inspired by one made by Anne Granger.

Out Of Candy Halloween Door Sign

Don't you hate it on Halloween when you are out of candy but the doorbell keeps ringing every five minutes? Here's a good solution for that-- a cute sign you can hang on your door that lets kids know to move on to the next house. You can even put this up if you just aren't going to be home for the evening (though your neighbors might wonder how you ran out of candy at 6pm).

One of my favorite things about MDS 2 are the new stamp sets that are in SVG format. Basically it means that you can use them as large as you want! So I increased the size of this bat from the Tricky Treats Stamp Brush Set and used the Coloring Tool to add some Tangerine Tango to the image. I love the result! I also cropped the "eeek" image from another stamp in the set.

Owl Birthday Party

Earlier this month I shared with you the invitation I designed for Esper's 2nd Birthday. I thought I'd share with you how everything else turned out for her fabulous owl birthday party. (My camera was having serious issues so I'm lucky any photos turned out.) The plan was to design a lot of decorations in MDS but since our color printer was broken, that was out. So a lot of it is just good ol' fashioned paper crafting. But I did design one thing in MDS that you will see below.

Esper opened this owl puppet present and was done opening presents. She wanted to get down and play with it.

Owl nests- no bake cookies with jelly beans as eggs.

We were all still eating dinner when she snuck a cupcake off the table. She looked at me to make sure she wasn't in trouble. hehe

My niece Addison wearing her owl mask. I got the pattern here and used it to cut the masks from felt. My mom then sewed elastic on to them.

I used a package of doilies, antique brads, and some die cut letters to make this banner.

Oooooh Dora cell phone!

Here's what I designed the night before in My Digital Studio. I had it printed as an 8"x10" at a one-hour photo lab. I used many words to capture her personality and the things she likes at this age in her life. It will look great in her room and then I'll put it in her scrapbook next year when I make one for age 3.

It was a beautiful evening.
