Baby's 1st Birthday Board Book Album

I made this board book last year for convention, but I realized recently that I had never posted it on my blog. It came together very quickly once I had a design plan. I just alternated the different layouts so I didn't have to think too hard about it. You'll see that when I got it printed I didn't leave enough room on the cover so it got cut off a little. Make sure you leave extra room for the cover bleeds if you get a board book printed. My favorite thing about the board books are that the pages lay flat. You don't have to worry about the middle gutter area. I also love how my daughter can look at this as much as she wants and I don't have to worry about the pages getting bent or torn. Why I Do What I Do

Esper LOVES her new board book. I made it for Convention and it shows pictures from her first birthday (I really need to make one for her second birthday too). She looks at it over and over again. I love that I don't have to worry about her ripping the pages.



I recently added this to my "about me" section on the right side of my blog:
"When I was little, I used to pour over the scrapbook that my mom created for me. I loved seeing what I was like as a baby and remembering past trips and activities we shared as a family throughout my childhood. I somehow felt that if my mom went through all that trouble to make a book all about me, I must be someone special. Now I am a mom to my sweet daughter, Esper, and I find myself wanting to recreate for her the feelings of pride and joy I received when I looked at my special book. This is my motivation for creating."

This video just further motivates me and shows me that I am on the right path in achieving my goal.
